Hugh Darlington, candidate for Pennsylvania House District 98

Hugh isn't running to become a politician. He stepped forward because he believes communities deserve thoughtful, practical leadership rooted in service.

Hugh Darlington believes public service begins with listening, responsibility, and caring about the people and communities around you.

Hugh is a veteran, arborist, husband, father, grandfather, and lifelong worker who has spent decades serving others, building relationships, and helping communities grow stronger.

Raised with values rooted in hard work, responsibility, and service, Hugh learned early that leadership is not about titles or politics — it is about showing up, listening, and doing what is right.

A Life Outdoors — Arboriculture & Stewardship

After his military service, Hugh built a long career in arboriculture and environmental stewardship. Working outdoors for decades gave him a deep appreciation for the land, agriculture, conservation, clean water, and the responsibility communities have to future generations.

Hugh attended Northern Chester County Vo-Tech before graduating from Penn State University in 1983.

Family & Community

Throughout his life, Hugh has worked alongside people from many different backgrounds and believes most people want the same basic things — safe communities, strong schools, affordable healthcare, opportunity, and leadership they can trust.

Why I'm Running

Hugh began his civic life as a Republican, but over time felt the party no longer reflected the values of service, responsibility, unity, and respect for community that shaped his life.

Today, Hugh is running for Pennsylvania House District 98 because he believes ordinary people deserve leadership that listens, works hard, and focuses on practical solutions that strengthen communities and support working families.
