Priorities
What Matters to Our District 98 Community
Hugh's priorities are shaped by decades of service, stewardship, and listening to neighbors across Lancaster and Lebanon counties. Each one reflects what he cares about, what concerns him about the future, and the kind of communities he wants future generations to inherit.
Strong Communities
Communities work best when people feel connected to one another, trust their neighbors, and believe their voices matter. Too many people today feel isolated, unheard, and frustrated by political division and conflict.
Hugh believes leadership should bring people together around practical solutions that strengthen local communities and improve everyday life.
After decades serving in the military, working alongside people from many different backgrounds, and building relationships throughout the community, Hugh understands that strong communities are built through trust, responsibility, service, and shared purpose.
He believes District 98 should remain a place where families can build stable lives, neighbors know one another, and future generations feel proud to stay and invest in the communities they call home.
Strong Public Schools & Career Pathways
Strong schools help build strong communities. Hugh believes every student deserves a fair shot and multiple pathways to success.
Not every student needs the same path to succeed. Some students may choose college, while others may pursue apprenticeships, military service, agriculture, healthcare, manufacturing, small business, or the skilled trades.
Hugh believes education should prepare students for real opportunities, productive lives, and meaningful contributions to their communities.
He wants young people to see a future here at home — where they can work hard, raise families, build careers, and remain connected to the communities that shaped them.
Economy & Working Families
Families across our communities are working hard and still struggling with rising costs, housing pressures, healthcare expenses, and uncertainty about the future.
Hugh believes people who work hard deserve dignity, opportunity, affordable healthcare, good-paying jobs, and the chance to build stable futures for their families.
He understands the pressures facing family farms, small businesses, veterans, seniors, and working families because he has spent his life working alongside people facing those same challenges.
Hugh supports practical economic policies that strengthen local businesses, agriculture, manufacturing, healthcare, and the local workforce while helping communities remain affordable and stable for future generations.
Responsible Stewardship
When you spend your life caring for living things, you understand the importance of protecting the land and natural resources future generations depend on.
After decades working outdoors and caring for trees, landscapes, and communities, Hugh understands that stewardship is not a partisan issue — it is a responsibility.
Protecting clean water, healthy soil, farmland, and open spaces helps strengthen communities, support agriculture, preserve Pennsylvania's natural beauty, and improve quality of life.
Hugh supports practical, balanced approaches that respect agriculture, workers, businesses, and the environment while protecting the resources future generations will depend on.
Trust, Service & Accountability
Too many people feel disconnected from government and frustrated by politics that divide communities instead of helping them.
Hugh believes leadership should be rooted in listening, responsibility, honesty, and service.
He is not running because he wants power or political status. He stepped forward because he believes ordinary people deserve thoughtful, practical leadership that respects the community and focuses on solving problems.
Hugh believes leadership should lower the political temperature, bring people together, and restore trust that government can still work for ordinary people.
Practical leadership, rooted in service.
Help Hugh bring this vision to District 98.
